More than $1 million, gun found in arrest of Pa man in armoured car heist, killing of partner

PITTSBURGH, Pa. – An FBI Special Agent says between $1.3 million to $1.5 million of the money that Ken Konias allegedly stole from the armoured car he was working has been recovered, along with the gun likely used to kill his co-worker.

Special Agent in Charge Michael Rodriguez, who heads the Pittsburgh FBI office, told reporters Tuesday that Konias led investigators to the money which was part of the $2.3 million that missing from the armoured car he was paid to guard.

Rodriguez also said that Konias, who was being co-operative, had a pair of handguns with him when he was arrested in Florida, including the one supplied by his company, Garda Cash Logistics.

Rodriguez said Konias “indicated” that was the weapon used in the shooting and robbery.
