3 workers exposed to radiation at Fukushima, 2 hospitalized

Three workers at Japan’s Fukushima nuclear power plant have been exposed to high levels of radiation while laying cable at reactor 3.

Two of those men had their skin exposed after walking through contaminated water and were hospitalized.

The Nuclear Safety Agency said this was skin exposure to radiation, as opposed to airborne exposure.

About two dozen people have been injured since the plant began leaking radiation after the tsunami almost two weeks ago.

The problems keep coming, with rising temperatures reported in the spent fuel pools and containment units at some of the other reactors.

The government has indicated radiation levels are down in Tokyo tap water, and it’s now considered safe for infants to drink.

Police said 26,000 people are now dead or missing in the earthquake and tsunami.
