Sags defeat Mooseheads 4-3 in shootout victory

HALIFAX – The Chicoutimi Saguenéens defeat the Halifax Mooseheads 4-3 in a shootout win Thursday night at the Scotiabank Centre.
Nicolas Roy put the Sags on the board early, with Jake Coughler quickly responding to tie it up at 1-1 after 20 minutes.
Swiss sensation Nico Hischier scored early in the second to give Halifax a 2-1 lead for the majority of the period.
But the Sags responded with Roy scoring his second of the night to tie it up at 2-2 heading into the final period.
Connor Moynihan scored an unassisted goal to give the Mooseheads a brief lead, but the Sags tied it up again on a Frédéric Allard power play goal, forcing overtime.
After a scoreless overtime, they went into a shootout where Roy helped propel the the Sags to 4-3 win.
On Friday, the Herd welcomes the Baie-Comeau Drakkar to the Scotiabank Centre.
