Toddler falls to his death at Pearson Airport

A toddler has died after falling the equivalent of four stories from the departures level at Pearson International Airport.

It happened on Sunday night while a family was waiting for their flight to Argentina.

Witnesses tell 680News that the mom was standing on the railing at the departures level at Terminal One.

Her fifteen-month-old son in one arm and her suitcase in the other arm, when the toddler squirmed out of her grip, fell over the railing about twenty metres to the stone floor below.

That tragic death has some air travellers thinking that the glass rails should be made higher.

“I think they should, it is better they make it higher so no one can fall over ever again,” one woman told 680News.

A bouquet of flowers and a teddy bear are now laying on the floor where the toddler died.
