Toronto transit agencies informed of threat before terror suspect killed in Strathroy

GO Transit and the TTC were warned about a possible threat, but not at a specific location, before a terror suspect was killed in Strathroy on Wednesday.

On Thursday, the TTC’s Brad Ross told CityNews that the transit agency wasn’t informed of a specific location, only that a threat was being investigated. He referred further questions to Toronto Police.

GO Transit spokesperson Anne Marie Aikins said the same thing.

Terrorism suspect Aaron Driver was killed in a confrontation with police in the southern Ontario town of Strathroy.

The RCMP said it received credible information of a potential terrorist threat earlier in the day.

The national terrorism threat level for Canada remains at “medium” where it has stood since the fall of 2014, Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale said.
