Crown approves charges against 5 more people in Stanley Cup riot

The Crown has approved charges of participating in a riot and mischief against five more people stemming from the events following the Stanley Cup game 7 in Vancouver.

A total of 57 suspects now face charges.

The latest group includes four men and a woman, all from outside Vancouver and ranging in age from 19 to 26.

The Crown is working through a list of 125 people recommended for charges by police.

More charges are expect to be laid as police identify more rioters from photos and videos taken during the incident.

The only conviction so far related to the Vancouver riots is 21-year-old Ryan Dickinson, who was sentenced last week to 17-months in jail.

Dickinson admitted to wrecking an unmarked police car and vandalizing a clothing store, and plead guilty to participating in the riot.
