Woman almost robbed while stopped at intersection

Two men attempted to rob a woman in her car while she was stopped at a traffic light in Bayers Lake Sunday night.

Halifax Regional Police Sergeant Bill Morris says the attempted robbery happened around 10:45 on Chain Lake Drive.

He says two men opened the door and demanded money from the 23-year-old, when she refused, they smashed her rear window.

Morris tells us it’s a good idea to lock the doors in your car when driving.

“A lot of the newer vehicles go into lock as soon as you reach a certain speed,” said Morris. “If they don’t then people should lock their doors when they’re driving around.”

The men ran off toward the Wal-Mart, wearing dark hoodies and blue jeans.

Police are investigating.
