HALIFAX – The Halifax Mooseheads shut out the Charlottetown Islanders 3-0 at the Scotiabank Centre on Sunday.
The Mooseheads got off to a good start, with Raphael Lavoie scoring at the 13:11 of the first period.
The second period saw both teams struggle to gain any kind of momentum, but ended with Joel Bishop giving the Herd a 2-0 going into the third period.
Any hope for an Islanders’ comeback was quickly squashed by Benoit Olivier-Groulx who scored his third goal of the season with less than three minutes left in the contest, for a final score of 3-0.
On Friday, the Mooseheads continue their home stand when they welcome the Quebec Remparts to the Scotiabank Centre.
