Roundabout construction near Halifax Common enters second phase

Phase two of the roundabout construction near the Halifax Common is scheduled to start today.
North Park Street reopens to traffic between Cornwallis and Cogswell.
However, only outbound traffic will be allowed on Cogswell Street between Bauer and Robie streets, inbound traffic will be blocked until further notice.
Ahern and Trollope streets will also be closed, those needed access to Citadel High School will be let through by local crews on site.
Halifax Transit’s Route 6 will be detoured in the area.
These changes are expected to last until August 24th.
Another change in the area, Rainnie Drive is being changed to a one-way street between Cogswell and Gottingen, and is closed to vehicles heading downtown, with the exception of local traffic exiting the driveway off of Citadel Hill.
The city expects the roundabout to open to traffic by late August, pending weather delays.
