Wanted by police: vacant buildings for training

Halifax police are asking for the public’s help, but this time, there’s no crime to solve.

The police Emergency Response Team is looking for a cheap building training sites in the municipality to use for tactical training. They’re asking for vacant building or ones scheduled for demolition that could be used to train officers in responding to barricaded people, hostage takings, active shooters, and other scenarios.

A release says police have used vacant buildings for the exercises in the past, and they’ve proven a vlauable resource in creating realistic scenarios.
