Regional Police have laid numerous charges against five people after an investigation into stolen snow-clearing equipment dubbed “Operation Snowman.”
Police say the thefts have occurred since Dec. 10, and were spread throughout the region. Most happened during the overnight hours.
Last month, the investigation ended with the arrest of five people between the ages of 31 and 51 – four men and a woman – from across HRM.
They face a total of 39 charges, including theft, possession of stolen property and breach of probation.
Police say the investigation resulted in the recovery of nearly $300,000 worth of snow clearing equipment.
