Parking ban lifted for the night

The municipality has lifted enforcement of the winter parking ban for the night.

In a release, city spokesperson Jennifer Stairs says crews have made “significant progress” clearing streets over the past 10 days, and all priority roads have been addressed.

She says work continues on residential streets, curb cuts and intersections, and asks people not to park on narrow streets where emergency vehicles would not be able to pass.

Typically, the ban is in place until March 31 (but only enforced during declared snow and ice events), but the municipality has the ability to extend it until April 15. The traffic authority has done so this year, so the ban may be enforced beyond the end of March.
