Arrest made after bank robbery

Halifax police say they’ve arrested a man after he robbed a bank Thursday afternoon.

At 3 p.m., police say they were called to the Bank of Montreal on Lacewood Drive, after a man went into the bank, told a teller he had a weapon, and demanded cash.

Police say he fled on foot, and they caught up with him two minutes later at the intersection of Regency Park Drive and Lacewood Drive, and arrested him without incident.

They say the 50-year-old man had cash and a pellet gun on him.

Police say their investigation continues, and no charges have been laid.

No one was injured during the incident.
