A pedestrian was struck in a marked crosswalk in Halifax Tuesday.
At about 1:50 p.m. Tuesday, Halifax Regional Police responded to the corner of Brunswick and Cornwallis Streets. A 27-yr-old pedestrian was taken to hospital by ambulance with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries after being hit by a pick-up truck.
The 45-year-old driver of the pick-up truck that hit the woman has been served a ticket for $693.95 for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk, and will lose four points on his license.
This is the fifth incident this week in the city, and police are reminding motorists and pedestrians to be aware of their surroundings.
