Teen killed in collision in the west end of Halifax

Halifax Regional Police say a collision Friday afternoon on North West Arm Dr. was fatal.

Police were called to the scene shortly after 3 p.m. after a car and a pick-up truck collided on the overpass with Highway 102.

The driver of the car — a 17-year-old boy and the only person in the vehicle — was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is not being released until his family has been notified.

The driver of the truck was not injured.

North West Arm Dr., northbound between Walter Havill Dr. and Highway 102, remained closed Friday evening as police investigated the accident, and traffic southbound on Dunbrack St. was being redirected.
