Regional Police say the pedestrian who was hit by a vehicle in Dartmouth on Friday has died.

It happened just after 5 p.m. as the 74-year-old man crossed the street near Portland Estates.

He was struck by a car driven by a 23-year-old man.

The pedestrian’s been identified as William Lee of Dartmouth.

He was taken to hospital after the incident, and died there Monday night.

The investigation continues, and police ask anyone with information to contact them.

The driver will simply be given a warning and a small fine, as the Courts did last month when a driver mowed down a pedestrian. Apparently it’s open-season on pedestrians now in HRM.
