The province’s serious incident response team is investigating the arrest of a robbery suspect earlier this year.
The man was seen entering a Dairy Queen on Dutch Village Road, shortly after a report of a robbery at the Superstore on Joseph Howe Drive.
SIRT was not called to investigate right away, as the man did not suffer serious injuries in the incident.
He since made a complaint to the Office of the Police Complaints Commissioner, and police referred the matter to SIRT on Friday.
SIRT investigates “all serious incidents involving police in Nova Scotia, whether or not there is an allegation of wrongdoing,” according to a statement.
