Another suspicious fire at St. Andrew’s United

Investigators are looking into another suspicious fire at St. Andrew’s United Church in Halifax.

Fire crews were called to Coburg Road and Robie Street at around 11:05 p.m. last night

Halifax Regional Police spokesperson Pierre Bourdages told News 95.7, firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze inside the building.

“After a preliminary investigation, the fire was deemed suspicious,” said Bourdages.  “It’s now being investigated as a potential arson.”

This isn’t the first arson investigation at the church this year.

Shortly after 2 a.m. on May 12th, crews were called to the same church and found an accelerant had been used to light a couple of piles of debris on fire inside.

According to police, the building wasn’t secure when arrived.

Damage in that incident was minimal and the blaze was quickly put out by fire crews.
