Man hit by truck on Highway 102 was reported missing last week

A man killed while walking on Highway 102 has been identified.

Just before 6:00 p.m. Sunday night, RCMP were called to the 102 just south of the Kelly Lake scales after an outbound tractor-trailer hit the 44-year-old man.

As a result, police closed some of the lanes of the highway to allow an investigation which in turn caused a traffic slowdown in the area.

Police confirm his identity as David Allen Doucette. Friends had been searching for Doucette for days, and police issued a news release last week saying he was missing and presumed to be driving a green 2007 Jeep Compass.

Police are asking anyone who may have seen someone walking in the area before the crash to get into contact with them.
