A man accused of murder after a stabbing death in 2010 has been found guilty.
Demarco Smith was charged after Casey Downey, 19, was killed at a North Preston house party.
Smith’s lawyer said it was a self-defense accident, arguing that Downey impailed himself on Smith’s knife during an argument.
The judge didn’t buy it, and has found the 28-year-old Smith guilty of second degree murder.
He’s automatically sentenced to life in prison. Parole eligibility will be determined at a hearing in April.
