Overnight stabbing in Dartmouth

A woman is in hospital recovering from non life threatening stab wounds in Dartmouth this morning.

Staff Sgt. Lindsay Hernden told News 95.7 police received a call from a delivery person just after midnight.

“He had been approached by a female on Wyse Road, the female was bleeding from her back and she stated to this individual that she had been stabbed,” he said.

The 31-year-old victim told police her injuries were the result of a confrontation that occured on Primrose Street involving two other females.

“There’s nothing to lead us to believe this incident was pre-planned, there was an altercation and it lead to the stabbing,” explained Hernden.

Police searched the area with canine units. No arrests have been made and the matter has been forwarded to HRP/RCMP Integrated General Investigative Section.
