UARB names bus company to replace Acadian Lines

A new company will be taking over Acadian Lines bus routes at the end of November. The private company Maritime Bus, previously known as Trius Tours, has been selected to provide inter-provincial bus service in the Maritimes.

The UARB made the decision public Thursday.

Maritime Bus president Mike Cassidy says taking this bus service won’t cost any more than Acadian Lines.

“We posted, within our application, the same rate structure for passenger and parcel delivery as Acadian Lines has right now,” he says, adding he looks forward to the future.

“Myself, my staff, we are honoured today to think we can provide this service to the Maritime provinces,” he says.

Cassidy says Maritime Bus will start service at 12:01 a.m. on December 1st of this year.
