Trade Deadline Day in Ottawa

OTTAWA – It’s always an action packed day in the NHL, but here in the capital things are expected to remain quiet.

Senators General Manager Bryan Murray is not willing to give up future considerations for short term help.

He says he is still kicking some tires in search of forward depth, but Murray would like an asset that will be with the team for years to come, not just the upcoming stretch run.

Also of note, the Sens made a move yesterday acquiring Ben Bishop from the St. Louis Blue for a 2nd round draft pick.  When this move was made, shoring up depth at the goaltending position, it made for a quieter day on the Ottawa trade deadline front.

There is a chance for minor tweaks, but no large moves will be coming out of the capital on this day.
