Woman hit, seriously injured by 18-wheeler

A woman is in critical condition after one of four collisions involving pedestrians in the last two days.
The 56-year-old was hit by an 18-wheeler at Old Sambro Road and Sussex Street just after 5 p.m. Wednesday.
The 70-year-old driver is facing charges of failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk and having an invalid insurance card.
An hour later, police responded to a car-pedestrian accident on Mumford Road at Romans Avenue. A 39-year-old woman was taken to hospital with non life threatening injures.
On Tuesday, two pedestrians were hit by cars – one at the intersection of Lakeside Park Drive and St. Margaret’s Bay Road and the second on Kaye Street in Lower Sackville.
