Police seize small arsenal after gun fired through apartment ceiling

Members of the Halifax Regional Police/RCMP General Investigation Section are investigating the discharge of a firearm that happened at an apartment building on Knightsridge Drive in Clayton Park early on Monday morning.

Police say it happened just after midnight on Monday.

A tenant heard a loud bang, but the person was wearing head phones and didn’t pay any attention to it.

In the morning, a family member noticed what appeared to be a bullet hole in the ceiling and wall of their apartment, and called police.

Officers responded and determined the damage was caused by a bullet and conducted a search of the apartment above the unit to ensure no one was injured.

Police spokeswoman Theresa Rath tells News 95.7 officers executed a search warrant on the apartment above the unit in the afternoon, and seized three firearms, a pellet gun, two bullet proof vests, ammunition and a conducted energy weapon.

No one was injured during this incident, and the investigation into the discharge of the firearm and the recovery of the weapons is on-going.
