The farmer’s market at the Alexander Keith’s brewery will have a lot more space going spare this weekend.
Most of the 200-plus vendors who typically sell their wares every Saturday are moving to a state-of-the-art eco-friendly building on the waterfront this week.
Pastry vendor Frederic Tandy tells CBC he’s looking forward to the move because it means more parking and less crowding for buyers – which means they’ll likely spend more.
About 70 vendors are staying put in the old location, hoping customers will be attracted to the charm and ambience of the heritage building.
The new Seaport Market in Pier 20 will operate six days a week.
