McDonald’s killer receives new prison passes

One of three men serving a life sentence for his part in the McDonald’s murders of 1992 has been granted two more temporary passes from prison.
The Herald reports the National Parole Board approved the unescorted passes for Darren Muise on Nov. 25. Each is good for up to 48 hours.
The 36-year-old has been out of prison more than 200 times since he was sentenced.
Psychologists say Muise has done significant work on his risk factors and the risk of him committing another violent crime is greatly reduced.
Three people died when Muise and two others robbed the McDonald’s in Sydney River. A fourth victim survived but is permanently disabled.
