Lacewood Drive smoke shop robbed

HALIFAX – Halifax Regional Police responded to a Robbery call at 287 Lacewood Drive last night around 8:30.
HRP report a 52-year-old male entered the store and demanded money from the cashier. The suspect was given a sum of money and then left the store and fled from the area in a taxi.
The taxi was located shortly after on the Bedford Highway after a traffic stop near the Windsor Street Exchange. HRP say the suspect was taken into custody without incident and there were no reported injuries.
The suspect will face a charge of robbery and is scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on Monday.
