HALIFAX – Thanksgiving is just a week away and while the holiday is a time to give thanks it could also be a chance to share.
Each year Engage Nova Scotia connects newcomer families or international families with Nova Scotians to share Thanksgiving dinner.
Danny Graham with Engage Nova Scotia says their sharing Thanksgiving program has seen great success in the past.
“This is something that has been received really well in Nova Scotia,” he says. “In fact, Share Thanksgiving Nova Scotia has set itself apart from other parts of the country as being the most welcoming people when it comes to newcomers and international students at Thanksgiving time.”
Graham says currently hosts are still needed in Halifax and Antigonish.
