Grain futures were higher on Thursday in early trading on the Chicago Board of Trade. Wheat for Sept. delivery advanced 14.40 cents at $5.23 a bushel; July corn gained 10.80 cents at $3.5520 a bushel; Sept. oats was up 2.60 cents at $2.8760 a bushel; while July soybeans rose 7.20 cents at 9.0140 a bushel.
Beef and pork were higher on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
Jun. live cattle rose .93 cent at $.9998 pound; Aug. feeder cattle gained 1.57 cents at $1.3475 a pound; June lean hogs was up .65 cent at .4465 a pound.
