NewsAlert: Consumer price index in July up 2.0 per cent from year ago

OTTAWA — Statistics Canada says the consumer price index in July was up 2.0 per cent compared with a year ago.

The move matched the year-over-year increase of 2.0 per cent in June.

Economists had expected an increase of 1.7 per cent, according to the financial markets data firm Refinitiv.
