TORONTO – Some of the most active companies traded Wednesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:
Toronto Stock Exchange (12,573.08 down 97.03 points):
B2Gold Corp. (TSX:BTO). Miner. Down 16 cents, or 5.11 per cent, at $2.97 on 12.55 million shares. The gold sector was the second biggest decliner among all the 13 subgroups that closed in the red Tuesday as the price of the bullion fell $2.50 to US$1,370.10 an ounce on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Down 12 cents, or 2.56 per cent, at $4.57 on 7.44 million shares.
Kinross Gold Corp. (TSX:K). Miner. Down 35 cents, or 5.70 per cent, at $5.79 on 6.96 million shares.
TORC Oil and Gas Ltd. (TSX:TOG). Oil and gas. Down a penny, or 0.60 per cent, at $1.67 on 5.61 million shares.
Energy Fuels Inc. (TSX:EFR). Miner. Up two cents, or 10.26 per cent, at 21.5 cents on 5.52 million shares.
Toronto Venture Exchange (925.32 down 7.28 points):
Zodiac Exploration Inc. (TSXV:ZEX). Oil and gas explorer. Up 1.5 cents, or 17.65 per cent, at 10 cents on 9.96 million shares.
Petroamerica Oil Corp. (TSXV:PTA). Oil and gas explorer. Up half a cent, or 1.56 per cent, at 32.5 cents on 5.94 million shares.
Companies reporting major news:
Sears Canada (TSX:SCC). Retailer. Down 22 cents, or 1.79 per cent, at $12.05 on 12,259 shares. Sears posted a $152.8-million profit, equivalent to $1.50 per share in the second quarter, but would have posted an $11-million loss but for an agreement to vacate two Toronto-area stores by March. Revenue dropped 9.6 per cent.
Turquoise Hill Resources Ltd. (TSX:TRQ). Miner. Down four cents, or 0.75 per cent, at $5.26 on 1.63 million shares. The company has agreed to sell all its majority stake in Inova Resources Ltd. (TSX:IVA), an Australian mining company that has been on the block for some time, to Shanxi Donghui Coal Coking & Chemicals Group Co. Ltd. if no other offers arise.
