NovaScotian Crystal finds buyer

One month after NovaScotian Crystal filed for protection, someone now wants to take it over and the buyer is very familiar with the business.

President of NovaScotian Crystal, Rod McCulloch told News 95.7 a transaction is pending from one of the company’s former general managers, Anne Campbell.

“Like any transaction, like when you buy a house, you sign a contract and then there’s two days or a month or some time before it closes and we’re in that phase at the moment,” he said.

Anne Campbell said the deal will close on April 2, and assuming all goes well, she is thrilled to be back.

“It’s a great team and Rod has built a fantastic brand,” she explained. “I’m going to try and take it to the next step.”

There are currently 40 people employed there and Campbell said no lay-offs are expected.

NovaScotian Crystal was established in 1996, and it’s Canada’s only maker of mouth blown, hand cut crystal.
