TORONTO – Some of the most active companies traded Tuesday on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the TSX Venture Exchange:

Toronto Stock Exchange (12,136.94, up 99.35 points):

Starfield Resources Inc. (TSX:SRU). Miner. Down half a cent, or 25 per cent, at 1.5 cents on 10,151,018 shares.

Uranium One Inc. (TSX:UUU). Miner. Up 34 cents, or 12.78 per cent, at $3 on 9,753,929 shares.

Denison Mines Corp. (TSX:DML). Miner. Up 24 cents, or 17.02 per cent, at $1.65 on 7,335,998 shares. Denison is selling its U.S. assets and operations to Energy Fuels (TSX:EFR) through a stock swap worth about $106 million. Energy Fuels stock was up five cents, or 20 per cent, at 30 cents on 1,856,320 shares.

Bombardier Inc. (TSX:BBD.B). Transportation. Up 13 cents, or 3.26 per cent, at $4.12 on 6,976,908.

Torex Gold Resources Inc. (TSX:TXG). Miner. Down 11 cents, or 6.15 per cent, at $1.68 on 4,099,605 shares.

Manulife Financial Corp. (TSX:MFC) Insurer. Up 34 cents, or 2.63 per cent, at $13.28 on 3,898,784 shares.

TSX Venture Exchange (1,422.30, down 10.16 points):

Madalena Ventures Inc. (TSXV:MVN). Oil and gas. Down 12.5 cents, or 20.49 per cent, at 48.5 cents on 17,131,255 shares.

Calibre Mining Corp. (TSXV:CXB). Miner. Down 1.5 cents, or 6.12 per cent, at 23 cents on 5,066,868 shares.

Companies reporting major news:

Rogers Communications Inc. (TSX:RCI.B). Communications. Up 28 cents, or 0.71 per cent, at $39.89 on 762,993 shares. The company confirmed that its more than 90 remaining video stores stopped renting movies and games late last week and are now in liquidation mode. Rogers had previously announced the closing of 40 per cent of its video shops in December.

Air Canada (TSX:AC.B). Airline. Down one cent, or 1.16 per cent, at 85 cents on 278,690 shares. The Quebec government is seeking a court ruling on the airline’s obligations for conducting heavy maintenance in Canada, work that had been performed by Aveos Fleet Performance before it shut down and laid off all its 2,600 employees across the country last month.
