Police looking for suspicious man who approached young girl

Halifax police are asking for help finding a man who approached a young girl Monday morning.
They say at 8:40 a.m., an 11-year-old girl was walking on Castle Hill Drive, off of Kearney Lake Road, on her way to École Grosvenor Wentworth Park School when a car pulled up next to her, and offered $100 to drive her to school.
The girl ran away, and reported the incident to school administration.
The man is described as white, in his forties with short brown hair, and police say he was driving a light-coloured car and smoking a cigarette.
Police say they’d like to speak with the man, and ask the public to report any similar incidents, and remind the public to reinforce with their children the importance of not talking to strangers.
The girl was not injured or assaulted.
