Class action statement of claim filed in Air Canada crash-landing

A local law firm has filed a statement of claim for a class action lawsuit in connection with the incident at Halifax Stanfield International that saw an Air Canada flight crash land.

MacGillivray Injury and Insurance Law filed the $12-million lawsuit on behalf of some of the 133 people on board flight AC624 that touched down over 350-metres short of the runway in the early morning hours of March 29th.

The suit names the airline, Nav Canada, Halifax International Airport Authority, the unnamed pilot and the unnamed first officer.

None of the allegations have been proven in court and the class-action suit must still go through the certification process.
