Dartmouth shooting leaves one man in hospital, two suspects at large

A 50-year-old man is in life-threatening condition after being shot last night on Lahey Road in North Dartmouth.
Halifax Regional Police Staff Sgt. Reid McCoombs said the man was walking down his street at around 2 a.m. when two men came up to him and tried to rob him.
“At some point during this confrontation, one of the males produced a firearm and shot him in the torso,” he said. “The victim ran away on foot up a driveway and was yelling for help, which caused some residents to call for police.”
McCoombs said the victim is now in the QEII hospital in with life-threatening injuries, and the two suspects remain at large.
“The two suspects fled the area on foot. The only description we have at this time is one was a white male and one was a black male.”
