News 95.7 picks up five broadcasting awards

There’s a little more hardware in the News 95.7 trophy case this morning.

Reporters, anchors and the talk show staff were recognized with five awards at the regional Radio and Television Network Directors’ Association awards in Saint John on the weekend.

One was awarded to our Moncton station and the other four to the crew here in Halifax.

The awards were for an Andrew Krystal commentary on the death of Michael Jackson; the live coverage of Hurricane Bill last August; live reporting of a townhouse fire in Spryfield last December; and Rick Howe’s profile of a Halifax Explosion survivor.

The award-winning pieces will now be submitted for consideration at the national level.
