A well know businessman and community leader has announced he is joining the Nova Scotia Progressive Conservative Party.

Rob Batherson is now seeking the party nomination for Halifax Citadel-Sable Island.

Batherson has said he is confident Nova Scotians will elect Jamie Baillie’s Progressive Conservatives as their next government.

“They voted for Stephen McNeil to bring about change and he hasn’t brought about positive change so I think for Nova Scotians looking to change the Premier and change the government the PC party with our strong leader Jaimie Ballie and our strong team is ready to go to get our province back on track.”

Batherson added that he has worked with Baillie for more than 20 years and said he has what it takes to get the job down.

Currently, Batherson is the president and co-owner of downtown creative social agency Colour PR. Before entering the private sector, he worked with Nova Scotia Premier John Hamm from 1999 to 2005 as press secretary and communications director.

Batherson said he’s looking forward to taking this new step.

“I have a strong impatience about delay, we need to get things done in this province. I have the ability to work with others to find better solutions.”
