HALIFAX – Regional Police have charged a man after an assault at a Quinpool Road gas station this week.
Investigators say just before 4:00 p.m. Monday afternoon a man walked into the station and began to yell at one of the employees.
Police allege the man grabbed a 31-year old female employee by the throat and assaulted her, and when a 23-year-old male employee tried to intervene, the man assaulted him as well.
Both employees were later taken to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
The suspect fled the scene, but officers managed to take him into custody nearby.
Fifty two-year-old James Tweedale now stands charged with two counts of assault, two counts of uttering threats to cause death or injury and one count of choking.
He was scheduled to appear in Halifax Provincial Court on Tuesday to face the charges.
