Knife wielding woman spits at driver in road rage incident

A Lower Sackville woman is facing a number of charges after pulling out a weapon during a road rage incident.

Halifax Regional Police said they were called to the area of Albro Lake and Victoria Roads around 4 p.m. on Tuesday for reports a 27-year-old male was assaulted by a 24-year-old female.

According to police, the male driver said he had honked his horn at the female driver for cutting him off. He told police then while the two vehicles were stopped at the intersection, the woman got out of her car and spat in his face. She then pulloed out a knife and motioned she was going to slash his tires.

According to police the woman dropped the knife then fled the area.

The woman’s vehicle was located by the K9 unit shortly after and the woman was arrested.

The 24-year-old has been charged with assault with a weapon, assault, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and possession of a prohibited weapon.

She is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on August 15.
