Charlottetown hangs on to defeat Mooseheads 2-1

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – The Charlottetown Islanders hung on to defeat the Halifax Mooseheads 2-1 at the EastLink Centre on Wednesday night.

Jean-Sébastien Taillefer put the Islanders on the scoreboard early, lighting the lamp at 11:42 of the first period.

Maxime Fortier responded in the second period, tying things up at one goal a piece, but Charlottetown quickly regained the lead and secured the win on a Sam King goal.

On Friday, the Herd’s road trip continues as they make their way to Cape Breton to take on the Screaming Eagles for the first game of the Hurley Cup.
