Halifax Mooseheads forward Jonathan Drouin is expected to play on the top line as Canada takes on Russia in the final game of round robin this morning.
Drouin will play with captain Ryan Nugent-Hopkins and Mark Scheifele taking the place of Saint John Sea Dogs forward Jonathan Huberdeau.
The winner of the game wins the group and advance directly to the semi-finals. The loser will play the third place in other group.
“It’s a huge opportunity,” says Canadian forward Ryan Strome. “Everyone has to come prepared and not get too out of the moment. it’d be great to beat them in their building.”
Canada has won all their round-robin games in regulation so far giving them nine points to sit first in the group. Meanwhile the Russians are also undefeated however they needed overtime to beat the Slovaks leaving them with eight points.
