Canucks continue road trip in Los Angeles tonight

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Canucks will resume their road trip tonight with a visit to the Los Angeles Kings, and try to build off of their 6-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday afternoon.

Last season, the Canucks beat the Kings twice in regulation while Los Angeles earned a win each in regulation and the shootout. The Kings have cooled off since opening the season with a 6-2-1 record in the first nine games of the season, but ended a five-game losing streak with a 4-3 win over the Nashville Predators on Tuesday night.

One of the hottest Canucks right now is Captain Henrik Sedin, who has two goals and five assists in his last five games while brother Daniel has scored a goal in each of his last three games against the Kings.

Roberto Luongo will get the start in goal for Vancouver. The Kings haven’t announced their goaltending plans. Backup goalie Jonathan Bernier made 27 saves in Tuesday’s win over Nashville and starter Jonathan Quick is just 3-6-1 lifetime in the regular season against the Canucks.

Winger Alex Burrows will miss tonight’s game with back spasms while defenseman Sami Salo is expected to return to the lineup after missing three games with a sore groin.

Faceoff is 7:30 p.m.
