One passenger seriously injured, others with minor injuries after collision near Halifax

Police say their preliminary investigation indicates alcohol was a factor in the collision.

Three men remain in critical condition on Saturday morning after a collision on Highway 2 in Grand Lake near Tingley Point Lane.

A GMC pickup and a Kia Forte were travelling in opposite directions on the highway when they collided.

Cpl Jadie Spence with Halifax RCMP said officers responded to the scene around 10:40 p.m., Friday.

The 30-year-old male driver in the Kia Forte was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The GMC truck had two male occupants. Both were transported to hospital, one with serious injuries and the other with minor injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

Collision re-constructionists are currently examining the scene hours after the crash, the highway is closed until further notice.
