Gas prices may drop below a dollar per litre in NS

HALIFAX – Nova Scotia drivers could see gas prices fall below the dollar per litre plateau when regulated gas prices change at midnight.

News 95.7 predicts when prices are reset, they will fall by about 2 cents per litre.

George Murphy of Consumers for Fair Gas Prices tells News 95.7 the election of Donald Trump and his thoughts on coal has seen oil prices drop.

“He’s saying keep digging, keep using it and keep consuming,” Murphy said.

“He hasn’t really come out with anything in regards to energy yet, but if you take that view towards coal, people are looking at that in the oil industry as the equivalent to ‘drill baby, drill.'”

Over in New Brunswick, prices fell be 4.4 cents per litre, lowering the maximum price to $1.03.1
