Gas prices up this week in Nova Scotia, diesel spikes

HALIFAX – Nova Scotia drivers will see a nearly three cent increase in prices at the gas pumps ahead of the long weekend.

The Utility and Review Board used its weekly adjustment at midnight Friday to move regulated prices up 2.7 cents per litre, to a minimum price of $1.05.3.

The big jump this week was noted in the price of diesel, as prices spiked 7.1 cents to a new minimum price of $1.02.8

One year ago Friday, Nova Scotia drivers were paying $1.01/L for gas, $1.01/L for diesel and oil was trading on the markets at $50.24 US per barrel, 20 cents per barrel less than Thursday’s closing price of $50.48.
