Major fundraising goal for new theatre at Citadel High reached

Doug Reynolds Sep 02, 2010 13:19:00 PM
A generous donation by one Halifax family means a big boost for Metro's art community. A fundraising goal for a $2.4 million theatre at Citadel High School has been reached thanks to the Spatz family.  Jim Spatz, head of Southwest Properties, tells News 95.7, the theatre will be good for Halifax.

"Some folks I know in the arts community tell me there's a need for a theatre of this size," he says "sort of in between the size of Neptune's main stage and the Rebecca Cohn."

Spatz declined to say exactly how much the family donated, but does say he and his family attended Queen Elizabeth High through the years and wanted to give back.
