The kids are headed back to school today, despite the intense heat and humidity.
Some parents have expressed concern that kids are going to buildings that, for the most part, are not air conditioned - in record-breaking heat and humidity.
Speaking on Maritime Morning, school board spokesman Doug Hadley says they know it will be warm and will be watching the situation closely.
"We'll make sure kids get lots of fluid and where possible, we'll try to keep kids out of the direct sun for extended lengths of time and just really keep an eye on the students when they're in school."
Hadley says the heat may be uncomfortable, but it poses no risk to students.
"The school day, in some ways, mirror what is going to be the hottest time of the day," he said. "So we've got a lot of buildings that don't have air conditioning, as people know, just like a lot of homes in Nova Scotia don't have air conditioning, so we just have to be cautious and be prepared and I think we'll be okay for the first couple of days."
Environment Canada has issued another humidex and health advisory today.
Temperatures hit another record on Wednesday, reaching 34.2 at the airport - the highest temperature ever recorded in September in Halifax.
