As the small community of New Germany reels from the death of Tina Mae Eisnor in a double shooting on Wednesday no one is feeling the loss quite like her son Devan.
Wayne Paul Eisnor, 47, is accused of killing his wife Tina Mae Eisnor, 43, in the parking lot of a New Germany grocery store on Wednesday morning.
It's shaken the close-knit community to its core but no one is experiencing the loss like Devan the Eisnors' teenage son.
He tells CTV the loss has been devastating.
"Having to hear the words that your father shot your mom in the head and the pain I felt, it was like everything was just torn from me," he said.
Wayne Eisnor remains in hospital in critical condition with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Devan says he's glad his father failed to kill himself.
"I'm so glad for it," Devan told CTV News. "I'm so happy he survived because for him to die, to kill himself, is the easy way out."
No date has been set but authorities say Wayne Eisnor will appear in court if he survives his injuries.
